100s of sofas are released in to Headingly every year to roam free without love or attention.

3 photos of rubbish left on the streets. Images show piles of boxes bags and larger items like soafs and beds.
June and July are busy times for the streets of Leeds with thousands of students moving in and out of their rented accommodation. This creates lots of rubbish, which is often not disposed of correctly, making things a nightmare for local residents as well as not being very environmentally friendly.

Leave Leeds Tidy (www.leaveleedstidy.com), a partnership between Leeds City Council, Leeds Met Students’ Union and Leeds University Union will help you find out about the problems associated with dumping rubbish on the streets when moving out of a property, as well as informing you of the services available to help get rid of it. Leave Leeds Tidy will be handing out FREE black bin bags around the Universities during the next few months so watch this space for more information!

Please contact us if you have any questions or anything to help students keep Leeds tidy.
